The Miscellaneous tab is where landscape admins can customize their landscape by adding external links and setting up questions for user approvals.

These features are designed to help admins provide additional context, promote resources, or streamline their membership processes.


Custom Links in Landscapes

Admins can add up to three custom links to the left-hand rail of the landscape, underneath the "About This Landscape" section. These links are persistent and visible across all screens within the landscape.

How It Works:

  • Links can be toggled ON or OFF.

  • Each link consists of:

    • URL: The destination link (e.g., a booking page, resource, or promotional page).

    • Link Text: A short, descriptive title that represents the link’s purpose “Book Here”.

Use Cases for Links:

  • Agencies & Consultants: Link to a “Book an Appointment” or consultation page.

  • Enterprises: Provide links to internal tools, shared documents, or training materials.

  • Freemium Landscapes: Use links to upsell users to a paid landscape or premium service (e.g., "Upgrade to Premium for Advanced Data").

Best Practices:

  • Ensure the links align with your landscape’s purpose and add value for users.

  • Use clear, actionable link text like “Schedule a Demo” or “Access Advanced Insights.”


Approval Questions for Joining Landscapes

This feature allows admins to require applicants to answer questions before they can be approved to join a landscape. These questions provide admins with additional context on why a user wants to join and ensure members align with the landscape’s purpose.

How It Works:

  • Questions can be toggled ON or OFF.

  • If the toggle is OFF but approval is required, users can still request to join without answering questions.

  • Admins can add up to three custom questions.

  • Questions are visible to applicants during the join request process.

Examples of Approval Questions:

  1. For Agencies: “How long have you been in SEO?”

  2. For Community Landscapes: “Why do you want to join?”

  3. For Enterprise Users: “What team or department are you a part of?”


Implications of Turning Off Features

  • If Links are toggled OFF, the custom links will no longer be visible in the landscape's left-hand rail.

  • If Questions are toggled OFF:

    • Applicants will not need to answer questions when applying to join a landscape.

    • Approval can still be required, but it will be based solely on the admin’s discretion without the context of answers.


How to Update Settings

  1. Add or edit links in the text fields for Link #1, Link #2, and Link #3.

  2. Add or edit questions for Question #1, Question #2, and Question #3.

  3. Toggle links and questions ON or OFF as desired.

  4. Click Update to save changes.
