Portfolios are custom collections of items you’re tracking within SiteCurve, such as domains, URLs, categories, locations, or indexes. They allow you to group and organize related data for easy monitoring and analysis.

Portfolios are highly flexible and can be used to track performance trends, compare multiple entities, or share insights with team members.

Why Use Portfolios?

  • Centralized Tracking: Monitor traffic and performance data for your key items in one place.

  • Customizable Organization: Group related domains, URLs, or categories to reflect your specific needs.

  • Performance Insights: Quickly assess traffic trends over time and export data for deeper analysis.

  • Team Collaboration: Share portfolios with others for seamless teamwork and information sharing.

How SiteCurve Portfolios Work

Accessing Portfolios

  • Dashboard View:

    • Portfolios are displayed in the left-hand panel of your dashboard.

    • Up to 5 portfolios are visible by default; click “Show More” to reveal additional portfolios if you’ve created more.

  • Portfolio Detail Screen:

    • Clicking on a portfolio takes you to its detail screen, where you can view all items (domains, URLs, etc.) and their performance metrics.

Adding Items to Portfolios

  • When browsing landscapes, click the “+” icon next to a domain to follow it.

  • You’ll be prompted to assign the domain to an existing portfolio or create a new one.

  • You can add multiple types of items (domains, URLs, categories, etc.) to a single portfolio, but it’s recommended to keep them separate for better organization. Use consistent naming conventions to make management easier.

Editing Portfolios

  • From your dashboard, you can:

    • Rename portfolios.

    • Remove items from portfolios.

  • You can also have the same item in multiple portfolios if it’s relevant to different contexts.

Viewing Portfolio Performance

  • In the Portfolio Detail Screen, you’ll see:

    • Total Traffic: Combined traffic for all items in the portfolio as of today with a 7 day trend

    • Traffic Trends: Performance changes for each item over 24 hours, 7 days, 14 days, 1 month, and 3 months.

Exporting and Sharing Portfolios

  • Exporting: Download the data in your portfolio for offline analysis.

  • Sharing:

    • Share portfolios via a link or by inviting users to access them directly.

    • Shared portfolios are added to the recipient’s account, enabling one-click collaboration.

Best Practices for Portfolios

  1. Organize by Type:

    • Keep domains, URLs, categories, and other items in separate portfolios to maintain clarity (i.e., urls with urls, domains with domains, etc)

    • Use clear naming conventions to make portfolios easy to identify (e.g., “Affiliate Sites – Credit Cards”).

  2. Start a Landscape for Critical Portfolios:

    • If an item in your portfolio is part of a landscape you don’t own, you risk losing access if the landscape is archived or deleted.

    • For important portfolios, create your own landscape to ensure uninterrupted data tracking.

  3. Share Strategically:

    • Use shared portfolios to align teams or share insights with clients. This ensures everyone is on the same page without duplicating efforts.

FAQs About Portfolios

What happens if a landscape associated with my portfolio is archived or deleted?

If a site you’ve added to a portfolio is part of a landscape that is archived or deleted (and you don’t own the landscape), the site is removed from your portfolio. To avoid losing data, consider creating your own landscape for critical portfolios.

Can I have the same item in multiple portfolios?

Yes, the same domain, URL, or category can belong to multiple portfolios if it’s relevant to different use cases.

Are there limits on the number of portfolios I can create?

For paid members, there are no limits on the number of portfolios you can create.

How do I share a portfolio with someone else?

You can share a portfolio using a share link or by inviting specific users. Both methods allow the portfolio to be added to the recipient’s account.

Can I remove an item from a portfolio?

Yes, items can be removed from a portfolio through the portfolio detail screen or the dashboard.

Are shared portfolios connected?

No, think of a shared portfolio being ‘copy and pasted’ into another user’s account.
