The Discussions feature allows users to share their thoughts, insights, and observations about domains in a landscape. Posts made here become part of the broader conversation about a domain and are visible across relevant sections of SiteCurve, depending on filters and settings.

Key Features of Discussions

1. Creating Posts

  • Write Your Insights: Users can share observations about a domain directly from the Discussions tab. Posts can include images, emojis, and tags to categorize them.

  • Filters and Context: Posts created while filters (e.g., niche or location) are active will only appear for those specific filtered contexts. For example, a post for "credit cards" will not appear under "personal loans" unless the "all niches" filter is applied.

  • Visibility: Posts in public landscapes are visible to all SiteCurve users, while posts in private/paid landscapes are restricted to landscape members.

  • Pinning and Editing: Admins can pin posts to the sidebar or edit/delete them. Authors can also edit or delete their posts.

2. Interacting with Posts

  • Comment Threads: Users can comment on posts in a threaded format, enabling focused discussions on specific observations.

  • Likes and Mentions: Posts and comments can be liked, and users can tag others to notify them directly.

  • Share and Report: Posts can be shared externally on social media, and inappropriate posts can be reported to admins.

3. Post Organization

  • Tags: Use up to five tags to categorize a post. Tags help bucket posts into relevant sections and contribute to user profiles.

  • Sorting and Filtering: Sort posts by most recent, latest activity, or top posts this month. Filters allow users to view posts specific to niches, locations, categories, or domains.

4. User Engagement

  • Weekly Digest: Posts are included in the weekly email digest for landscape members.

  • Visibility Across SiteCurve: Posts attach to a domain and appear throughout the module wherever the domain is contextually relevant, such as in the Overview or Location Curves sections.

  • Members Section: View all landscape members and start direct discussions. Clicking on a member opens their profile, where you can send messages.

5. Admin Controls

Admins have additional options, including:

  • Pinning important posts.

  • Deleting inappropriate posts.

  • Monitoring reported content.

6. Integration with the User Feed

  • Activity in Your Feed: Any discussion posts, comments, or updates within your landscapes will appear in the All Activity Feed on your SiteCurve dashboard

  • Post Highlights: Posts are displayed with their title, snippet, likes, and comments count, making it easy to skim through relevant updates.

  • Sorting Options: Use sorting options such as Most Recent, Latest Activity, or Top Posts This Month to organize your feed based on your preferences.

  • Direct Engagement: From the feed, you can like, share, or dive into a post for further interaction without navigating to the specific landscape.

  • Public vs. Private Visibility: Posts from public landscapes appear in the feeds of all SiteCurve users, while posts from private or paid landscapes are restricted to their respective members.

  • Post Type Labels: Certain automated posts, like alerts or traffic updates for domains, also flow into the feed and are marked with their corresponding categories (e.g., "Performance Movement").
